Little Learners has a spacious, fully enclosed out door play area with a wide range of outdoor equipment to allow the children to have fun whilst gaining physical skills, fresh air and lots of exercise. The garden area is very safe and secure and the children are supervised at all times.

The new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) puts a lot of emphasis on the learning environment and the quality of adult interaction with the child. What does this mean to your child? The main impact will be on the environment we will be providing for your child. A lot of your child’s learning will take place outside (especially our older children). We are extending the garden and it will be divided into areas (very similar to our indoor provision).

GARDEN AREAS
• Herb garden (the children will be growing their own herbs to plant in our herb garden)
• Large outside sand pit (appropriate tools etc will be provided)
• Large soil digging pit (appropriate coveralls and equipment will be provided)
• Water area (via a hose pipe and large equipment i.e. drain pipes, builders funnels etc)
• Pet area (a rabbit run for jerry rabbit all of the children will take it in turns to care for the rabbit, we will also be providing a bird table and nesting boxes to encourage wild birds into the garden)
• A quiet area (we will provide the children with logs and tree stumps to sit on)
• A music area (this will be made by stringing up various pots, pans etc and providing various wooden spoons, sticks etc)
• Mark making (large chalk boards will be wall mounted and chunky chalks provided)
• Mathematical (outdoor thermometer, large soft play shapes etc)
