Little Learners is divided into separate rooms, your child is allocated a room based on age and ability. However the nursery routine is structured, enabling all age groups to come together at certain times of the day. We find the children particularly enjoy their time together in a relaxed family like atmosphere. (Story time, circle time, lunchtime and outside play)

Babies and young children need very special consideration and individual care. At Little Learners the specially designed baby unit has equipment and resources to promote a wealth of experiences for young exploring minds, in a warm, safe and bright environment. The staff / child ratio is very high, ensuring babies receive individual adult interaction and stimulation that is so very important in their early developmental stages. All of the staff working with babies and toddlers have been chosen to do so for their positive attitudes and motherly natures.

The baby unit is divided into five areas:

THE SLEEP AREA: We provide cots, pushchair's and beds in a relaxing environment so little ones can get their naps. Bedding is changed for every child.

THE (SPECIALLY BUILT) MESSY PLAY CONSERVATORY: Activities include sand, water, painting, gluing, etc.

FULLY EQUIPT BABY UNIT (0-2year): Soft play, play nests, multi sensory toys, activity tables, books, stacking toys, puzzles, etc. 

TODDLER ROOM (2-3 years): Books, construction, home corner, dressing up, etc.

The older children have five areas in which to learn:

THE COMPUTER ROOM: Children will receive one to one instruction from a qualified member of staff. All computer discs are of an educational nature, enhancing the nursery curriculum. We also have an interactive whiteboard.

A SECOND MESSY PLAY CONSERVATORY: Housing sand, water, paints, play dough, etc.

CLOAK ROOM: Every child is allocated its own peg with a picture and nametag, encouraging recognition of their written name. Every child is also allocated their own named draw, in which to keep their personal belongings, artwork and work sheets, etc.

FREE PLAY ROOM: Children are actively encouraged to choose their own activities, such as dressing up, role-play, home corner, small world toys, etc.

WORK ROOM: A quiet area enabling the older children to concentrate on table activities, work sheets, problem solving, etc. This room also houses a large book/reading corner.

BOOK/DISCOVERYAREA: During bad weather the children are unable to access our newly resurfaced outdoor play area so we have created a large indoor book/discovery area housing a soft play/ball pool and rides and a play house, enabling little ones to run around and enjoy their time with us. It allows them to explore the natural world or quietly enjoy a book.
